Like a Ghost in a Vault

Up all night,
alone, reading by
firefly light,
falling asleep and
waking up
to a parliament
of stars
in a cold-pressed
sky, and you,
your eyes,
shinning in the dark,
haunting,
like a ghost trapped
in a vault,
ethereal and
effervescent and
everything.

So beautiful
it makes me ache
like
bones that break,
poems you fake…

So much wonderment
I explode
in
blunderbuss
of wanderlust…

If I’m dreaming,
don’t let me know.
If this is really life,
then don’t let me go.

Let’s stay in bed, let morning
wash over our wounds,
and this kiss,
like a salve
for the
scars
you can only
touch
with words.

Ethereal and
effervescent and
everything.
